What happens during a 30 min consultation?

Great question! Before your first session, we will meet virtually or by phone to make introductions. I’ll share with you the wide array of services available to you during sessions. We will talk about your path and journey, what your current challenges and needs are. We then work together to craft a plan which best fits and meets you where you are, helps you feel empowered, supported.

What happens during a 1-hr session?

First and foremost, we meet where you are most comfortable. Be that your house, your private office at work, a conference room at a local business that provides privacy, the beach, pond, park, etc., our Northern VA office, or virtually. This is your time for recovery and healing. We will use a combination of techniques to address your mental health needs through a collaborative coaching and motivational model, all practices are trauma informed and sympathetic to this model. Based on your needs from our session, we could employ coaching, motivational dialogue, Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise (TRE) to aid with PTSD recovery, guided meditation and breathing to assist with anxiety and stress, Yoga Nidra, which promotes a deep sense of rest, relaxation and calmness, as well numerous other modalities to best support you.

How does having a mental health coach work for you?

Great Question. As a trauma informed and trained coach, I assist you with feeling comfortable, able to alleviate trauma symptoms by facilitating safe space to create experiences that are positive, uplifting and create hope for the future. We will work to become aware of your emotions and support you every step of the way to envision and create the future you desire. Being a trauma informed coach means we acknowledge your past where it is, honor the person (you) for who you are. We will spend time and focus on brining attention to the present moment and the hopeful and positive potential of your very bright future, to include your growth, post-trauma. My goal as a trauma informed coach and mentor is to support you as the client move in a direction of mastery of your situation and learning + practicing new ways of brining peace, ease and calm, through new tools such as grounding, mindful breath work, rest yoga Nidra, Vagus nerve stimulation treatment and other tools. You can and you will move toward creating a calm, peaceful and enriched life for yourself.
